About Arvada Housing Authorities

The Arvada Housing Authority which has existed since its creation by the City Council in 1975. The Board of the Arvada Housing Authority is made up of the seven members of the City Council who serve in a different role as Commissioners of the Authority. The staff for the Authority consists of five employees and an Executive Director who also serves as the Manager for the Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization Division which is part of the Community Development Department.

Over the years the Authority has administered a housing assistance program that has helped thousands of low income Arvada residents to secure rental housing they otherwise would not have been able to afford. The Program by which that assistance has been provided is called the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. The US Department of Housing and Urban Development provides the financial wherewithal that allows this assistance to be made available.
